ScienceGuyz is a tutoring company based in Athens, GA that specifies in tutoring math and science courses. They are located about 5 minutes away from University of Georgia (UGA) and mainly catered to those students. They use the syllabus from courses taken at UGA such as Biology, Physics, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry, that way what they're teaching is relevant to the student. They have plans to start the process of shifting to an online based system while also maintaining their physical location.

Julian Vincent is a 19 year old UGA student who is majoring in Chemistry. He recently moved to Athens as a freshman to dedicate himself to the student life. His goal is to be a Pharmacist and he is ready for the full fours years of hard work and dedication.
Julian is currently looking to get outside help for his Chemistry course after failing his last test, he's afraid of failing the entire course. He heard about Science Guyz from his friends who already took the course. He is debating the idea to sign up for the semester plan.
Pass his class with an A and actually learn the content.
We conducted 6 interviews of the six I conducted 3. We also sent out a survey and gathered 24 responses. During this process, the information we gathered was insightful.

When putting together the affinity diagram, we grouped together information from each interview we had and key information they told us, as well as the survey information we gathered. We then divided the information into 12 categories: School/Majors, Classes Taken, Financial, Difficulty of Classes, Thoughts on Seeking Help, How you found resources, Stuff they didn't do, Would you pay for online resources, Resources used, Thoughts on online tutoring, Drawbacks, and Services/Features Wanted. We used this information to find out who our key competitors were, whether in person is better than online, and what features are necessary.

Our first user persona is someone who is looking for help, possibly after failing their first test in one of their science courses. This person desperately wants to pass the class and finds their teacher not helpful.

This user is someone in their senior year that has been using ScienceGuyz services. The problem they are currently having is the change of their availability. They are busier than ever and don't have the time to come to their physical location. They are craving for more online help as opposed to in person.
Science Guyz was designed to provide in-depth tutoring for specific science courses that mirror the curriculum of UGA. They are currently planning to expand to other universities and eventually online. We have observed their website is outdated and does not provide a good path for future online expansion, which is causing potential clients (students) to look into other services provided by competitors. How might we improve their UI experience, to make their website more reliable and trustworthy thereby improving their online presence, increasing traffic and engagement, and creating a path for future expansion goals?

When it came to the features we were going to include in the redesign, our main focus was in the "High Priority for ScienceGuyz" and "High Priority for User" quadrant. With that being said, we ended up touching on all the quadrants and including them in the redesign.

We took inspiration from our competitors Chegg, Khan Academy, and Kaplan, and made sketches that combined some of the best attributes of each site. We put our own spin on the calendar which was inspired by a layout we saw online and we made an "About Us" page which the sight previously didn't have.
